Oocyte Cryopreservation Program at the
Continuum Reproductive Center
Oocyte cryopreservation is a process by which a woman’s oocytes (eggs) are frozen for future use. A relatively new procedure, oocyte cryopreservation may allow many women to retain their reproductive potential for years to come. Later, when a woman is medically cleared and/or ready to achieve a pregnancy, in vitro fertilization of the oocytes can take place. Read more about Oocyte Cryopreservation Program
From consultation through diagnosis and treatment, you will be cared for by your own expert physician and staff of experienced nurses and technicians in our new office suite. The CRC’s on-site laboratory offers the latest technology for in vitro fertilization and related procedures, carried out by expert scientists and technicians.
We begin with an initial consultation including medical history, and then carry out a complete fertility evaluation on both partners. Once the diagnostic results become available, your physician will work with you to formulate a medically-appropriate, cost-effective plan of care that maximizes your chances of having a baby. During treatment, you will receive educational materials and consult with your doctor and nurses. If you wish, we will refer you to a psychologist for additional counseling.
Each couple’s personalized plan of care may proceed through successive therapy options, depending on your clinical needs and your choices. For women whose evaluation documents a need, minimally-invasive surgery may be performed to repair scarring of the fallopian tubes or uterus, or to remove polyps or fibroids. For men whose semen analysis documents an abnormality, we will refer you to an outstanding Continuum urologist. Medications may be used to stimulate the ovaries to release multiple eggs in a single menstrual cycle, increasing the chance of pregnancy. In cases of mild male infertility, intrauterine insemination (IUI) with or without stimulating medications increases the chance of fertilization. In addition, in vitro fertilization and several associated techniques will be used as necessary.
In addition to cutting-edge infertility treatment for women and men, the Continuum Reproductive Center provides diagnosis and treatment for a variety of women’s reproductive and pelvic disorders. These include recurrent pregnancy loss, hormonally-related health problems, and pelvic pain caused by fibroids or endometriosis.
We are proud of the successes we have helped create for so many families within the New York metropolitan community. Thank you for considering us as you plan how to increase your family. Best of luck!
